Chicago trip

So, I was gone so long that apparently I had to create a new blog. Even my computer techy husband couldn't locate the old one. He says it's orphaned or something, I don't really have any idea. Anyway, here we go again. I'll try to keep you informed of the major events in our days.

We took a mini-vacation to Chicago with Erica and Jeremy last week. We took the kids to the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium. It was tons of fun! We met up with Brandi on Wednesday night and went out for pizza and back to the hotel to play cards and eat cheesecake. (Erica and Jeremy had a gift card from Christmas to the Cheesecake Factory!)

Shelby and Riley's favorite exhibit at Shedd's was the beluga whales. They had a six month old baby beluga...very cute! Riley spent half the day saying "bleega" and "bewa". They also enjoyed the penguins. Here are some of my favorite pictures:

Riley really enjoyed the Field Museum because there were a lot of books and buttons on his level.

Shelby is giving her "mean face" because we think DDT is what made grandpa sick!

We're getting ready for the dolphin show and Riley is particularly unimpressed because he's not allowed to get down and run around!

Belugas

A big sea turtle perfectly positioned for playing on.

We went to the Rain Forest Cafe for dinner on Thursday on Brandi's recommendation. The kids loved it!

It was a bit cold getting from the parking garages to the museums, hotels, and restaurants. In fact, more than a bit!!

Both kids were beat by the time we got done with our two-day vacation. But they were really good and we all had a ton of fun!
